We all want to be happy and no one wants to suffer, but the paradox of this is that it makes us suffer more. When we are happy we hold on tight to it. When the happiness changes, which it will, we suffer. When we are suffering we try and fight against it, which makes us suffer even more. Don't hold on to the happy times and don't fight against the bad times. Enjoy the happiness while it lasts, and find a way to help yourself through the bad times, without fighting against it - just go with the flow and not against it. Remember, nothing lasts, either good or bad.
